This course focuses on the fundamentals needed to install and maintain solar plumbing and is perfect for an assistant plumber or someone with plumbing exposure who would like to expand their knowledge

Course Content

Module 1: Explain the theory regarding solar heating water systems.

Module 2: Demonstrate and apply knowledge of roof trusses in order to complete installation of solar water heating system

Module 3: Plan and prepare for installation of solar water heating system

Module 4: Install solar water heating system according to plumbers instruction

This is a practical course and the modules will be done in a fully equipped workshop.

Basic Plumbing Course

Recognition of prior learning

If what you have learned at work, from other programs, courses, from life experience or training provided at work is relevant to this program, you may be entitled to gain subject credits or exemptions.  A RPL (Recognition of prior learning) process is available for recognition and assessment of your skills. Relevant credits will be passed.

 

Qualifications

On completion of this course the student will earn the following:

  • Registration on CETA National Learner Data Base
  • CETA statement of results for the following units:
    • 262784 – Mount solar water heating system (Level 2)
