The linings are for both walls and ceilings. The work involves making fixing plaster sheets and cornices and fixing them to timber and metal framing. Plasterers also manufacture and fix ornamental plasterwork.

  • Module 2: Plaster Surfaces
  • Module 3: Prepare for Plastering
  • Module 4: Plaster walls and screed a floor and steps

This is a practical course and the modules will be done in a fully equipped workshop.

Bricklayer or relevant experience

If what you have learned at work, from other programs, courses, from life experience or training provided at work is relevant to this program, you may be entitled to gain subject credits or exemptions.  A RPL (Recognition of prior learning) process is available for recognition and assessment of your skills. Relevant credits will be passed.

On completion of this course the student will earn the following:

  • Registration on SETA National Learner Data Base

SETA statement of results for the following unit standards:

  • 261657 – Plaster Surfaces
  • 9971  – Apply screeds to a concrete floor
  • 9969 – Prepare for plastering
